My wife and I, along with our two daughters ages 4 and 22 months, just got back from our Disney Cruise and we loved it.

We had done a Disney World trip last year and I didn't want to go that route again, as I find cruising more relaxing than a week at Disney. After doing a lot of research, we opted for the 5 night cruise aboard the Disney Wonder. We were a little nervous due to the fact that the ship is so old and quite a bit smaller than the Allure of the Seas, the last ship we cruised on. However, we found that even though the ship is nearly 20 years old, she was in great shape.

We spent the night before the cruise at the Miami Airport Hilton where they have a package that gives you two vouchers to the buffet plus free transportation to the port the morning of your cruise. Be warned that when staying there, you don't have a say as to what time you get transported to the port. Our Disney Cruise check in time was 11:30, but we couldn't get the shuttle to the port until noon. This wasn't a big deal, since we were basically able to walk right aboard the ship by the time we got there.

Cabin Review

Cabin 9D

This was a good stateroom. It was clean and in good shape. Since it is in the middle of the ship and on a low deck, there was less wave action in the room than there were in other parts of the ship. The only negative to this room was with the shower. The shower handle was loose, so when you would set it to a comfortable temperature for water, it would slowly turn downwards, making the water slowly get cold, so you would constantly have to readjust the temperature.
