My wife and I booked an aqua class cabin for a tour of the Holy Land (Eastern Mediterranean). The cruise was a wonderful experience with our greatest focus on the Holy Land ports. Our tours (private company, not Celebrity excursions) of Israel over the three days was a very moving experience. Our time on the ship allowed us to rest and rejuvenate for the next day's tour. Blu was overbooked with the Suite guests, but this will be corrected when Celebrity adds the dining room for exclusive use by Suite guests. Our Blu experience was wonderful, good food, attentive service and relaxing atmosphere. The ship is absolutely gorgeous. Very tastefully decorated and with many comfortable places to sit, relax, read, or just enjoy conversations with friends. Café al Bacio was a daily delight. The three shows starring the Silhouette performers were the best shows we have ever seen on a cruise. The sets were perfect for the show, the singers had beautiful voices and were good actors, too. The show selections were very entertaining. As always, in all of the ship's operations, Celebrity has well trained crew members who work very hard to provide a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.

Now for the Canyon Ranch Spa- As a male who tried to enjoy their services, it was abysmal. The one-size-fits-all robes did not fit many men. We had to walk around holding the two ends of the robe so that it did not hang open as we walked. Further, there were NO men's slippers. The staff advised you of the lack of men's slippers and smiled delightfully as they asked you if you wanted to use women's pink slippers. Not professional. For me, the spa experience they offered men was walking around in pink slippers with your belly hanging out. In terms of my massage, I was asked if I had any particular needs. I advised them of the tension knots in my back and would appreciate their addressing them. My masseuse advised me that I had paid for a deep tissue massage and that is what she would provide. I understood that to mean she would address my tension knots. At the end of the 50 minutes, she did exactly what she said she would do (deep tissue massage) and I left with my tension knots not specifically addressed, and at a cost of over $140. Enough said, except that my understanding is that the Canyon Ranch Spa is a contracted service to Celebrity Cruises. They are from my experiences on this cruise a poor provider of service for aqua class patrons.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 1

Cabin A1

I liked having the bed on the veranda side of the cabin. It allowed us to dress near the closet and bathroom. Unfortunately, the drawer space for storing clothes is too limited. The closet is sufficient as is the bathroom storage space. Our cabin stewards were the greatest!
