We're veteran cruisers...25 to date with this our 7th on Princess. Royal is a beautiful ship with a very friendly and accommodating staff. Because we've cruised so many times, it is tough to "wow" us, but Royal made a pretty good go of it.
We drove from up North to Florida, so our travel arrangements were quite simple. We just drove to the port. We park outside the port at the Park and Go, which works out wonderfully for us.
We did, however, get off to a terrible start. Embarkation was AWFUL. Seems they had to change terminals so the new Regal had a place to park, and they were hardly ready for the 3,700 or so passengers having to go through security at the alternate terminal assigned. We were in line for almost an hour. We finally got through security and then check in was a snap. The cabin was ready and we were good to go. Cabin was fine. We had a balcony cabin up on deck 15. It was small but "cruise ship normal". The balcony, which everyone has been making a big deal about, was fine. Small, but usable . Same for the bathroom. Adequate closet space...could use a little more drawer space.
Nice but small. Pretty much standard cruise ship fare. Enough room for two...balcony small but in no way as tiny as everyone makes it out to be. Plenty of closet space...could use more drawer space. Bathroom OK...pretty much standard again. TV in room very nice...lots of on demand stuff...live TV somewhat lackingSteward service was perfect...no problems...everything as we like it.
