Boarding was the quickest and easiest we've ever had and we've been on many cruises. The ship is old but in excellent shape and constantly being cleaned, polished and shined by very friendly crew members. After the usual embarkation day lunch rodeo we were pleased to be invited into our balcony room at 1;00pm. Another pleasant surprise was our luggage was waiting for us at our door. This was a first.

On the positive side; Windjammer Breakfasts were the same everyday but it covered everything anyone could ever want. A special section included fried eggs hot off the grill without a wait. Customized omelets required a short wait and were promptly picked up and delivered to your table by very friendly, efficient servers. The Windjammer lunch, contrary to some reviews, changed daily with various offerings at the carving table, the specialty table and most days on the central island stations. Desserts were excellent and different each day. Main dining room dinners arrived hot and timely. Our servers were professional, friendly and efficient. The Head Waiter was sincerely interested in seeing that everything ran smoothly and occasionally pitched in to keep things moving. This is in contrast to the usual Head Waiter who you don't see until the last couple of nights. For instance, one night I had a very tough steak and the Head Waiter offered a special replacement any future night. Several nights later I received a marvelous filet mignon way better than the one I had in Chops.

The entertainment, with the exception of the ventriloquist, was very good. Production numbers were professionally done and the house band was excellent. Pedro, guitarist in the Schooner Bar, was also a real delight to listen to and graciously accepted requests. The Schooner Bar servers were superior to any we've ever encountered. We are also very pleased with the policy of embedding three free drinks daily in Diamond member's sea passes.

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Nice cabin with plenty of storage shelves, closet space and coat hangers. Small but adequate bathroom with a challenging shower.
