We stayed at Country Inn and Suites at Port Canaveral the night before the cruise because they offer a very inexpensive park and cruise package and provide a shuttle to the Port. We arrived at around 12:00 and there were no lines so we were on the ship by 12:30 and could start eating that wonderful buffet. I didn't care for the lemonade. It was very tart, but I soon learned to mix one third lemonade, one third tea and one third water. Other than that, we were favorably impressed with the food all week and thought it was the best we have eaten during six cruises. In general we liked the buffet better than the dining room. We also had burgers and the most delicious fried oysters. They are at the Fish and Chips on the level just above the buffet. Go up the stairs beside the desert bar.

Our balcony cabin and bathroom was by far the largest and best arraigned of all our cruises. There were three closets so plenty of storage space. I said our cruise was almost perfect, and here is the problem I had. The beds were just too hard. I have mild arthritis and the hard beds made it impossible to get a good nights rest. Also, the comforters on the beds were just too heavy and caused us to wake up hot. The cabin was fairly cool during the day and the temperature seemed cool at night until after a couple of hours sleep the beds would become too warm. Carnival should replace the heavy bedding with a light weight alternative when cruising the Caribbean.

I loved the movie nights by the pool so much that I only saw one of the shows provided by the entertainment staff. It had lots of pretty costumes but the dancing and singing weren't very good. It was in the main theatre but sorry, I don't remember the name of the show. Back to the movie nights, there are blankets to wrap up in, hot fresh popcorn and strawberry ice cream cones. That was my first experience with the big screen by the pool and it was a hit. Loved it.

The cabin was very large and bathroom the best arraigned and largest we've encountered during six cruises. The room was cool during the day but was never cool enough at night to allow for comfortable sleeping under the thick comforters. I tried only using the sheets but I'm used to some type of coverlet, so that didn't work. The carpet and sofa were very stained and should be replaced. The decor was drab. That being said, I'd rather have large and comfortable as opposed to new and tiny.
