Sail Date: Oct 2014

This was my first trip to France as well as my first Viking Cruise. We sailed from Paris to Normandy and back.

It was great to see the Viking Cruise desk as we left the baggage claim area and very quickly we were boarding a van to the ship. Greeted with a nice buffet lunch while our luggage was being taken in and our cabin freshened up.

Very quickly we discovered the ship and surrounding area with a guided walking tour. Next day we took Paris by storm and sailed during dinner towards Normandy. It is wonderful to see a country by such a vital waterway instead of just roads. Charming river towns nested in the country. Wonderful stop to view Monet's garden and house. Even though the garden was almost at the end of its season, it was still beautiful to see the light and understand why Monet loved the area.

Cabin Review

Cabin Upper deck

Our cabin was great and the service of the crew and staff was wonderful. Cabins are cozy but well appointed. Lovely shampoos and lotions provided so I didn't have to bring those from home. Great hot water and plenty of it! Would recommend black out drapes (especially when in port) but the beds and bedding were heavenly.
