This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise and will probably be our last. There were way too many issues. First, let me preface this review by saying I did not choose this cruise line, ship or ports. A relative and his friends had booked this cruise and asked us if we wanted to join them so we did but I'd never have chosen this boat on my own. It was far too small of a boat which meant there were limited places and things to do. We'd taken 2 Carnival cruises in the past and loved both of them so we were expecting more and better things from RC as everyone said they are a step up from Carnival. That was not my experience. There were 11 of us on this cruise and each one of us was extremely disappointed.

I wish to apologize if what I will now say offends anyone but there were entirely way too many senior citizens on this cruise. It was truly a floating old age home. Never have I seen a larger collection of canes, walkers, wheelchairs and electric scooters in one place. The demographic was so large the ship changed dinner and show times to accommodate them. Dinner was a 5 pm! I'm still at work at 5 pm so eating dinner at that time is unthinkable but if we didn't eat early, we missed the (horrible) shows (more about them in a bit) which were at 6:45 pm! Come on, RC. Really!? And even with that unforgivable show time, there were some old folks who couldn't even stay awake as I saw many of them with their heads hung down and snoring around me as I tried to sit through and hear the awful show above an old person's oxygen machine's constant beeping. I am in my 40's so I'm not that young but this cruise was just too old for us. Everything was old, the passengers, the so-called entertainment which was just downright pitiful, and even the trivia game questions.

As for the entertainment, Ugh!, is all I can say. Each night was worse than the one before. I walked out of the show one night and didn't even bother to go another night when it was a repeat comedian. We had fabulous, big production shows on Carnival and I expected at least that from RC. NOT! Simply terrible shows. I cannot stress how bad they were. There was one event that was pretty fun, it was called the Quest and we enjoyed that very much but, unfortunately, it came too late in the cruise. At night, the only place to go after 10 pm was the disco and even that was lame. The dj played awful music and he even played the same songs 2 nights in a row. I think he put it on autoplay and would disappear as he was not visible in the booth.

They only electrical socket was near the vanity mirror near the bed. I wish there were sockets in the bathroom like on Carnival boats. Blow drying, heating up my curling iron and charging camera batteries was complicated by having only 1 socket. Our window was filthy. There was even hair stuck to the outside glass. Yuck! The full size couch was nice. I liked having the extra closet in the bunk bed area. The beds were very nice and the sheets were exceedingly soft, quite surprising. I slept very well on the boat. Did not like that we could not hear the announcements in the room. We had to open the door and stand in the hallway to hear the announcements. The room was also very hot. We had the a/c turned all the way to cool but the room never really got comfortable enough for me.
