Embarkation was slow because the Overseas terminal was in disarray, and because Celebrity staff tried to feed too many at a time through security. Once aboard, you're on a pleasant enough journey, though those used to the rich appointments, sculptures, wall hangings and furnishings of Royal Caribbean's older ships will find the decor a bit minimalist. Our cabin was spacious but the furniture all looks as though it came from Ikea flat packs. The Ocean View cafe's decor is that of an airport cafeteria and lacks the fiinsh and style of others, as do all the public areas. The food is good, but you notice the lack of new dishes after 3 or 4 days. The card room has four tables for 2800 guests to share. The drink holders in the arms of your theatre chair are perfectly positioned for your elbow to collide with your drink. The ratio of staff to guests is low and is noticeable when you want something to happen quickly. The accent on cleanliness is commendable, and the cabin staff for our area were great. Do NOT accept the invitation to check out with your own luggage if you need to use the elevators. This is a mostly good ship deserving 4 stars, but 5.5 ? I don't think so.
