Have just returned from 13 day repositioning cruise on Voyager of the Seas from Singapore to Sydney. This was our first trip with Royal Caribbean but our 9th cruise. Embarkation was not pleasant. We didn’t arrive until 1pm, knowing that most people turn up about 10.30am. Unfortunately, they didn’t start letting people on board until 1pm instead of advertised 11am and not having any loyalty points with this line, we had a 2 hour wait.

Our cabin was an inside 8433. On the ship’s deck plans, it looked like it was near the stairs and elevators and was the closest to the middle of the ship from the aft section. What we didn’t know was it was actually a dead end and the library was between us and the elevators. We were told we could use the emergency exit into the library instead of walking all the way to the aft of the ship and back down the centre. Having no one walking past the room or no neighbours opposite us, it was a quiet cabin. The carpets, bedding and TV were all new and it was more spacious than a Princess inside cabin but not as much storage space but still adequate for our needs. Being able to use the TV to access your on board account was useful. Our room attendant was efficient. We had 4 days with a non flushing toilet problem but it was attended to. We always bring a non aerosol air freshener with us and that was used on those days.

Because it was a repositioning cruise, there were few ports of call. The only shore excursion we did was in Darwin and that was arranged privately with a group from Cruise Critic Roll Call with the Off-Road Dreaming Company who I can highly recommend.
