When we first arrived to the ship we were absolutely amazed. We had cruised on large ships in the past, but this was our first experience on a small cruise ship. Our expectations were far exceeded from the moment we walked onboard and continued throughout the entire journey. The authentic big red paddlewheel was beautiful and the ship was so nicely decorated. We were in a balcony stateroom that was much larger than any other cabin we had cruised in in the past, and had sliders out to our balcony so we didn't miss any of the views as we sailed up the river.

The staff onboard were welcoming and friendly. They were young, bubbly, and very personable. They even helped me embarrass my husband by getting the entire dining room to sing happy birthday to him during dinner one evening! I surprised him by calling the office beforehand to let them know we were onboard for his birthday, so they were prepared with a delicious chocolate cake. The meals were delicious. My husband highly enjoyed one meal in particular one evening, asked the chef if it could be prepared again, and he was able to order it even though it was not on the menu as an option! They were so accommodating and made the trip absolutely wonderful.

We spent most of our time sightseeing at different ports. This trip included most of our shore excursions, and we only had to purchase 1 tour that we were interested in participating in. The tour was only $30 per person and was highly enjoyable. We also enjoyed Toots who was onboard as our "Riverlorian". She has incredible stories to tell and was very knowledgeable about the river and the area we were sailing.
