The quality of Celebrity's service has taken a downturn. The food wasn't nearly as good as on previous Celebrity cruises or ships. Overall service from the crew was OK but lacked in a couple areas. The waiter we had in the main dining room was inattentive and often placed the wrong meals with the wrong diners. We found we had to shift plates around quite often. The service our table had was extremely slow and we were often the last diners to leave. Two hours to sit at dinner is way too long. The quality of the food was off as well. The selection was poor and the quality of the food was not up to previous Celebrity cruises. I was really looking forward to the meals and they were a let down. We chose to eat in the Normandie restaurant the first night and the food served there was bad as well. We ordered Chateaubriand for two and the meat was overcooked to the point that it was inedible. We complained and were only offered a chance to return ro the restaurant for a complimentary cheese plate and dessert. Any quality restaurant would have comped the meal or asked us to return for another. I complained numerous times to both the head waiter and guest relations to no avail.

I can't fault other parts of the cruise. the rooms were clean and the room stewards were very efficient and friendly. All the staff we encountered were very polite and helpful when needed. The overall cleanliness of the ship was excellent.

The entertainment for the most part was good. Everyone has their own taste so not all of the acts were to our liking but we heard comments from other passengers as well regarding the quality of the shows.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 9

Cabin 09

The cabin was a basic inside cabin and the first time we were on the Summit. We had previously cruised on the Eclipse which had much more storage space. We had to improvise to be able to store all our clothes without reverting to leaving things in our suitcases. We book inside cabins quite often and feel we get more cruises for the money. Also, we don't tend to spend any time in the cabin except to sleep and change clothes so an inside cabin works for us. The room stewards were very attentive to our needs and the cabin was always kept up to standards.
