We arrived at the terminal in Singapore for a trip to include 3 days in Bali and then Komodo before going on to Thailand and Malaysia. We booked this particular cruise purely because of the Bali stop as it was where we spent our honeymoon 20 years ago.Upon check in we were told that Indonesia was cancelled and we would be taken to Vietnam and Bangkok. What we were not told was that the port at Phu My in Vietnam was a commercial port, with no passenger facilities at all. There was no passenger terminal, no taxis, no shops and no tour providers. The only way off the ship was to book one of their overpriced tours, we booked a tour which took 3 hours each way on a coach without air con. In Bangkok the port was even worse, it was a container port again with no passenger facilities at all, so we once again had to book tours in order to go anywhere. All of this was a far cry from the white beaches we imagined visiting, probably on our own, in Indonesia. we were told that the Indonesian authorities were asking for bribes to allow us to visit and it was against the company's ethics to agree to that. However we learned that other cruise ships were still visiting Bali.Later on in the cruise we visited Langkowi and were delayed by over an hour when it came to leaving. We could see and hear a row going on on the pier. You will have to draw your own conclusions as to why our cruise was drastically altered. All passengers were given 250 US dollars as compensation, but this didn't even cover the cost of the tours we were forced to book in order to get off the ship.

Along with being hugely disappointed with the forced changes, we lost a day of cruising too as the ship sailed a day later than it was scheduled to do, with no explanation given.

We found the ship to be old and tired and not very clean and there was a strong smell of sewage in many of the public areas. The entertainment was sub-standard, the senior crew were nowhere to be found and it was nearly impossible to find a sun lounger. Many of the loungers were broken and dangerous, but were not removed and passengers had no choice but to risk their health and use them if they wanted to sit in the sun.
