We went on the 4 night cruise out of Port Canaveral on the Sensation and it was a little subpar compared to the other 3-4 Carnival ships we have cruised on in the past 2 years. Carnival seems to have cut back on amenities on the this cruise. The only bar open on the pool deck consistently was the smoking bar which was very crowded and smoky. We don't understand why This was the case I as other Carnival cruises had both bars open, plus they were themed bars (Rum Bar, Tequila Bar for example).

We had an ocean view room and it was OK, but there were no toiletries supplied (toothpaste, bar soap, etc.) and when we asked our room steward about this, he just said use the body gel dispenser in the shower, which is unacceptable to us. One of the bar boys was rude to one of our party by telling him to give him a dollar for bringing him a drink, which is also unacceptable since our party had already paid a 15% gratuity when we bought the Cheers program drink passes.

We like to play miniature golf on the upper deck but the carpet was torn badly on several of the holes and needs to be replaced.

We really like the Empress deck our room was on.
