We choose this cruise because we had previously traveled with Avalon. The cruise was a round trip from Paris to Normandy. We booked a pre-cruise night in Paris through Avalon at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse. Hotel was nice but location was not great (pretty far from major attractions),
The Tapestry II was excellent. The captain was always visible and interacting with the passengers (I have never seen this degree of availability before). Staff was great. They were primarily eastern European but spoke English well. Room was very nice and larger than our previous river cruise. Food was better than expected. Food was plentiful and varied. Menu was in French and English. However when I ordered in French the Romanian waiters had no clue.
The included excursions were great especially Monet's garden and the beaches of Normandy. We did the optional excursion to Honfleur - interesting but very crowded. The Seine river was beautiful. I was surprised by the small amount of traffic compared to the Rhine river.
Roomier than previous Avalon cruise (Felicity).
Layout with bed toward window was great but often there was another boat parked along side. Closet space was adequate (we travel with a lot of stuff). Bathroom was very nice and functional. Toiletries were very good.
