I always wanted to cruise the Rhine. We chose Avalon because it offered a smaller ship with fewer passengers, and with more freedom to manage our own time. We had only been on one cruise (Disney, with family), and we were turned off by the crowds and endless lines.

Our experience with Avalon exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by friendly and hospitable crew who recognized our faces and took care of our every need. From the moment we walked onto the ship, we felt relaxed and very pampered. No request was too big or too small for their attention. I was amazed at the genuine good humor of every single member. From the housekeepers to the bartenders and wait staff, we were treated like family. It was clear that they all enjoy working for Avalon.

The ship itself was well appointed and very clean. Our stateroom, though not the most expensive, was laid out to maximize the space and provide comfort. I was surprised that water pressure and temperature were never a problem.
