Cabin: Outside Stateroom with French Balcony

We have never cruised before so this was a first for us. We were not keen on the idea of ocean cruising due to the size of vessel, number of passengers & possibility of sea sickness!

Our cruise down the Rhine from Basel to Amsterdam suited us perfectly. Not too many passengers. A different port every day, sometimes two and a very gentle pace. Always something to see from the window.

Ship was immaculate & very well designed. Great attention to detail.

Cabin Review

Outside Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin B

Cabin was very comfortable and very well designed. There was a place for everything.

Huge panoramic windows gave us great views.

Good seating area.

Immaculately clean.

225 is the last passenger cabin at the rear of the ship so we did experience some engine noise particularly the first night when we were negotiating the locks between Basel & Strasbourg.

Not a major problem.

Port Reviews

Strasbourg

We took the courtesy shuttle bus and wandered around on our own. It was good to have that option and map provided

Strasbourg very pretty.

Mainz

We were moored in town centre so wandered on our own. We like to be independent so this suited us fine.

Cologne

We were moored in city centre very near the cathedral so were able to get there esrly before the crowds.

We also visited the chocolate museum & cafe which we highly recommend. Only about 15 mins walk along the promenade from mooring point.

Rudesheim

We were here on a public holiday so some shops etc were closed. But it meant we saw the village on a quiet day - it can be very crowded. Enjoyed a Rudesheim coffee & apfelstrudel in a local cafe.

Again we were moored in town so could wander independently.

Koblenz

Koblenz is a pretty town on the corner of Rhine & Moselle rivers.

Lots of shopping opportunities here as it is the main town for the locals. So the shopping is not as touristy as other places.

Again we were moored in town so did not need to take a tour.
