Our first experience of this ship but had been on Norweigen Jade, Star and Epic before. After reading mixed reviews we went with an open mind and came away over all pleased with our experience of a very reasonably priced cruise.

Food- we mostly dined in Windows main dining room and service was good and food tasty and well presented too. It was unfortunate that a special bottle of wine we had brought onto the ship (& paid corkage) was opened incorrectly preceded a few other little annoyances with service that evening. After bringing to the attention of Restaurant Manager Furtuso Gonsalves, he immediately resolved service issue and ordered us a fresh bottle for the next evening. He even sought us out the next evening and made sure we enjoyed perfect service that night. True old fashioned great service- in fact the best we have received at sea.

Raffles buffet was good. We always found a seat and food we enjoyed. As with all NCL ships the 'Washy washy' hand gel assistance certainly helped to keep hygiene standards up on all the food areas and was impressive.

Cabin OA

Cabin (6016) was fine for an outside choice. It was located not too far from lifts so this was handy for getting to spa and other things at For of the ship. If you wanted to get to main restaurants (mid & Aft) one needed to go up a floor, walk along the length of ship and down to whichever restaurant you wanted. It wasn't as bad as this sounds and we found the ship easy to negotiate and find places as it was smaller. Having said that, it took us a week to discover the outside area at Raffles Court! As the weather was wintery to start with we hadn't ventured out with our food until we reached Israel!

The cabin was clean and very well kept by Acco our stateroom assistant. He was really friendly and greeted us every time we saw him. A real asset to NCL and very thorough.

Port Reviews

Zadar

Shared taxi with other couples (€25) each way. Much better than waiting in freezing cold for (€15 each) NCL shuttle and could come and go when we pleased.

Don't miss the water organ and ancient ruins.

Athens (Piraeus)

Had been before and taken open top ( hop on and off) tour bus. Available from walking out of port and turning left. A good way to see the area and get to all the sites.

Katakolon (Olympia)

Did our own thing here. Walked right outside port and got train 10€ return to Olympia. Very good.

There is also a toy train type of thing that others said was good that just went around the area.

Beautiful port and easy access to shops and bars just outside on seafront.

Venice

Did our own thing. Caught no 5 bus from our airport hotel Marriott and then got boat around around Venice.
