Contrary to some of the negative reviews we had a very good experience aboard The Majesty.
The check in procedure at the port was a bit tiresome with a long queue. Once you got to the desk everything was fine. After identifying cases at the side of the ship everyone had to queue again to board. When travelling with P&O we didn't have to collect our luggage at the airport and didn't see it until it arrived at our cabin. Thomson might want to consider this.
We had booked an outside plus and were allocated a cabin on deck 3 near the back (aft?) of the ship. The cabin was adequate for us and we had room at either side of the bed and could put our suitcases under the bed. There was ample storage and hangers. The bathroom was small but there was plenty hot water with a powerful shower, however sometimes the water would run over the lip of the shower basin and the floor of the bathroom would be a bit wet for a short while. Not a major problem though. We didn't really notice the engine noise apart from one night where my husband was a bit disturbed. The ship, itself is a bit tired and dated in places but the staff kept it very clean. We had a few nights at the beginning of the cruise that were very rough. One night the glasses on the dinner table all fell over. Some people suffered a bit from seasickness although we were fine. Cabin stewards kept the cabin clean and tidy.
