We have cruised over 30 times, but only once before on Princess, in Alaska. We gave it rave reviews. So we talked another couple (first timers) into traveling with us to the Panama Canal. The first two days at sea went well, except for a bad stench. There was a sewage smell in various locations all around the ship and it continued for the entire cruise. Then we had maintenance problems in the cabin and the staff were less than responsive--leaking sink and no hot water in the shower. After a few days I requested to be moved, but the ship was sold out. The A/C was out in several areas of the ship and the staff acknowledged that they were hot also but had no solution. We had our hearts set on seeing Costa Rica, but the captain said the seas were too rough. Then we were looking forward to Grand Cayman and the captain said the sea was too rough. All of that is understandable, but for two good ports, they gave us Belieze, followed by a lecture that the streets were not safe. The food was for the most part, good, except for the fish entrees. The two days we spent at the Sanctuary were the very best. It's worth the 40 bucks to receive the royal treatment.
