First time cruisers, picked the Spirit primarily on price. Was a bit concerned initially by reviewers who wrote off the ship as being old and tired.

Although we had an inside family cabin, we were happy with the size and condition of the cabin. We did have a noise problem at 2 AM when the staff was doing deck maintenance directly above us ( tell me how that makes any sense ... ) , and a plumbing backup issue another morning. NCL did provide complementary wine after each complaint, which took the sting out of things.

We only ate in the complementary restaurants, but were generally happy with them. Only issues were salty food at times, and an order at the Blue Lagoon that was totally wrong, with very slow service and pretty much ruined our lunch during a busy afternoon at sea day. We ended up leaving after an hour and going to Ruffles Lounge.
