I went on a Bahamas cruise 2 years ago and had a great time. This time my wife wanted to go to Grand Cayman so she chose this cruise out of Tampa which required us to drive 10 hours from South Carolina. Less than 18 hours before we started our drive, we received an email telling us that due to mechanical issues we would be going to Costa Maya instead of Grand Cayman. So much for our planning and research over the cruise we wanted. We decided to make the best of it since we had not paid for cruise protection.

Should have known it would not get better when we were a couple hours late just leaving the dock.

I was so disappointed to find out it was spring break and there were never any lounge chairs, pools or whirlpools available. Cozumel was fun but then Costa Maya. Not quite sure why we couldn't disembark there as the crew gave us conflicting information on the subject. The onboard replacement plan was terrible. Not sure why they couldn't add in a few more comedy shows or show Doctor Strange again since the lounge sat empty. On the fourth day, the sewage smell trying to be covered up with deodorizing chemicals throughout the Atrium was enough to turn anyone's stomach, Plus the lack of water for about 5 hours (no coffee) was not good with the other stuff going on. This was also the same day that they had areas blocked off "due to high winds", but it was the nicest of the days.
