We had read the mixed reviews about P&O and decided to try Britannia out because of the good prices sailing from Southampton and because it was a new larger ship. It was probably the most straight forward journey into a ship we had ever encountered. We were on in less than 20 minutes and the cabin was ready for us.
We loved the balcony cabin (Reviewed below) and didnt find the balcony too small at all and enjoyed having breakfast on it in the mornings.
Food was good and we didn't have one bad meal. We had room service every day for breakfast and this worked out well especially when we had an early start on a port day.
We loved the balcony cabin (G416 without sofa) as it was spacious and (although restricted view) overlooked the glass house where there was no smoking so that was good!
The smoking area is the other side of the ship- so cabins there would get the smoke from the balcony underneath. There were no lifeboats restricting our view or the cabins either side of us. Room was kept perfectly clean by Grace who was friendly and responsive to our requests.
I prebooked the Tour 4 Cruises coach. It was good and well worth the €17 each. It dropped us at four locations for a few minutes at each. Whole tour 2-2.5 hrs.
Easy to book on the day too. Just walk off ship keep walking and you will see people dressed in national dress- long red skirts.
We took shuttle and it was just a 5-10 min walk to the iconic Guggenheim Museum. Even good to view from outside with the sculptures and shapes of the architecture.
Went to aquarium- well worth a visit. Can prebook and get a slightly cheaper ticket if you book at least a day before.
