Never travelled by P&O before & decided to celebrate my wife's 70th by inviting 23 of her family(incl partners)...many younger group had never cruised before.
Embarkation was reasonably swift ,embarkation times carried out according to cabin deck alphabetical nos from priority for suites, balcony, etc to inside cabins..Ours was 3.30pm which by the time embarkation was complete for all of us,it left little time for our party to familiarise themselves with the ship, let alone get ready for the 1st sitting at 6.30pm.!-I was disappointed the we had requested a double for our cabin C211 & had 2 singles-pity!
The Oriental main dining restaurant was spacious & well designed. We were sat on 3 adjoining tables rather than 2 of 12 & 10 (as indicated by our cruise agent),however the wine service ok & table service generally good.Regrettably ,although the menus was variable ,2 dishes of beef on our table had to be returned as overcooked. To redress the situation these were promptly replaced with requested prime steak ,which was excellent.
Functional, clean & reasonable space-plenty of hangers & beds comfortable with hair dryer, kettle etc.-Situated some distance from main restaurant ,so long walk to main dining room.Liked the idea or checking spend daily on own account on TV. plus own safe.
Shame requested double & got twins.so tip is if high importance ,then get customer liason to pull beds together to make double & reshuffle cabinets!
