We sailed on the Carnival Splendor on March 5, 2017. Three days before we left for the cruise we were notified via email that the Splendor was having technical difficulty and the status to our cruise was in question. Carnival then wrote that the ship was going to sail but that our itinerary would change to just two stops (7 day cruise) in Nassau and Freeport because the technical difficulty was the ship could not maintain the speed to visit all of our original stops. (Nassau and Freeport were not on the original ports of call)

Carnival offered to give us 100% of our money back including airfare if we chose to cancel or if we decided to go we would get 50% of our cruise rate back, $100 per person on-board ship credit and 50% off a future cruise. They also stated in their email that there would be other surprises on the ship.

Well I don't even know what to say! We chose to sail and Carnival could not have been more accommodating to all of its passengers. There were free excursions, many cruise giveaways, special entertainment...it was fantastic! After 15 cruises I have to say that this goes down as one of the best.
