My friend booked this cruise for her daughter spring break and invited me and another friend along. I had no choice in ship or ports and started reading everything I could about both. Cruise Critic was invaluable and everything about the ship was true. Rhapsody is small, older and quite smelly in some places and seemed to constantly rock back and forth (gently) the entire time. Food was very mediocre to the point that you couldn't wait to port so you could eat something different.
Tampa Port-Got to the port early. Curbside porter very rude and counted the tip in front of us. Getting on the ship was a breeze but you cannot get to your room until 1 pm.
Pools-Lots of chairs, lots of people saving them for long periods of time. Bands that played were great. Activity team did a great job with entertainment. Pool has a large shallow area where you can sit and stay cool. Never needed to use the indoor pool.
Small. Had to ask the steward on the third day to please put the bunks up until dinner so we could stop hitting our heads. Miraculously we made it work with 4 women. Space under the bed for luggage and in the closet. Bring a shoe organizer and a power strip! These were life savers. Used organizer for all of our toiletries.
Could not figure out how to get a cab but took a $3 cab to the Krazy Lobster and had a great day on the beach! Food, drinks, shade and great shopping. Lots of vendors but they were very polite.
