We had cruised on Britannia around Caribbean in January, and had a wonderful time, so were a bit apprehensive of taking a short break just over to Bruges. However, it was my friend's 60th, so the 15 of us joined her. We had a great time. Yes, it was chilly, and the deck areas were not used much, but there were brave souls in the pool. Yes, there were hen and stag dos, but they were all civilised and quite house trained! Many family groups which was lovely to see. Food excellent, entertainment very good (saw 'Sounds of the Underground ' again, but still enjoyable.) We had a standard balcony cabin this time, as opposed to a superior, but it was fine for a weekend. In fact, I didn't miss a sofa, but my husband did. Bed was super comfy and we slept very well. Mill-pond crossing too. Some people complained about the disco till 5am in the live lounge, so I would advise to book cabin early and look at the ship plan first. We were on D deck midship and it was very quiet.

Took free ship shuttle into Blankenberg which is a lovely seaside and shopping area with many friendly cafes. You can catch train to Bruges from here. Loved it all!
