I chose this cruise for the itinerary and it did not disappoint! I have sailed with MSC before and enjoy the cruise line. The Poesia was a beautiful ship. The food was fantastic as was the service. We embarked in Genoa, Italy and spent the night before our cruise at the Grand Sevoy hotel. Wonderful place to stay pre-cruise, the staff is fabulous, the location is great, and the rooms were beautiful. Our first port was Civitavechia and we did a ship excursion to Tuscania and Tarquinia. Very beautiful tour of the countryside around Rome. The second day was at sea and we enjoyed the entertainment crew as they played games in the Zebra lounge, took some dance lessons, played in the casino etc. The scenery was also beautiful as we sailed among islands and went by Sicily. The next port was Corfu, Greece. Our group did an island tour and stopped at a local tavern for a drink and some snacks. We did a lot of shopping and had a wonderful time. The third port was my favorite. Kotor, Montenegro is beautiful. We did a walking tour of Kotor and villages. We stopped at a family home and had drinks and some traditional food with music while we ate. Wonderful excursion and the views are fantastic. The last port was Split, Croatia. This was a beautiful port as well and we did a walking tour of Split. We did a lot of shopping in a grocery store near the ship. The prices are extremely reasonable. The people were very friendly. This port is the only one that did not use the Euro and we had to exchange some money, but there are exchange places everywhere.

We disembarked the cruise in Venice and it went very smoothly. We were able to get a taxi to the airport for 45 Euros for a group of 4 of us.

The food on the ship was tasty. We ate a few times in the buffet and it was standard. Most of the meals we went to the dining room. I really enjoyed the cinnamon raisin french toast for breakfast. The dining room also has a small buffet at breakfast and lunch if you don't want to order off the menu. I had the buffet in the dining room for lunch one day and it was very delicious. I do highly recommend going to "snack" time in the buffet around 4pm. We used it as our tea time and the scones, cream, and jam are out of this world. I miss them!!
