Arrived in Amsterdam no knowing what to expect but any worries or fears were soon expelled but the fabulous welcome on board by the waiting staff and crew of the Emerald Star. In ten minutes were welcomed aboard, checked in ,shown our cabins and then ushered off to a excellent lunch in the lounge. So welcome after the battle of airport departure and arrivals and the indifferent attitude of airline staff. The Emerald staff brushed away all the negative thoughts of our holiday in moments of arriving on board and we felt at home right away.

The whole week proved to be as good as the delightful first impressions experienced when boarding. The week was a constant joy of well run, informative and entertaining trips ashore, excellent food and wine on our return from the trips served by cheerful attentive staff. Dinner in the evening was varied and delicious and was, once again served by the attentive waiting staff. No request was to big or small. Your wish was their command, cheerfully carried out.

I cannot think of any one negative point to record. We have been on many ocean cruises and can truly say that we have never been looked after so well as we were on the Emerald Star.
