After years of being snootily cruise-averse since "hair shirt" schools cruise in the 60s, we took the plunge to celebrate our 60th birthdays and retirement. We had a wonderful time due in no small measure to an unexpected upgrade to a balcony "stateroom" at the last minute. We were very impressed by the attentive, well-trained and unfailingly polite staff, the standard of the cuisine and the variety of interesting ports and city centre berths(as Adonia is such a small ship). The 2 days we spent on the outward and return trips on the Kiel Canal were a particular highlight. Our only slight criticisms were the advanced age of the majority of the other passengers which made for a floating Old Folks Home feel (but then it is a ship for adults only I suppose) and the quality of the entertainment which wasn't to our taste (but again that may be standard cruise ship fare..)
On the whole, however, we would warmly recommend Adonia and are already looking at the brochures and dreaming.....
Smallish wardrobes and bathroom but well insulated so very quiet. Nice furnishings, bedlinen and towels, comfortable bed. Great views from the balcony so would never want anything else!
