It was with some hesitation that we booked this cruise, never really having been attracted to the idea of cruising. We wanted to visit St Petersburg and after hours of research concluded that a cruise might be the most convenient way of visiting this wonderful city. After further research, including the wealth of information on CC, we settled on the Eclipse because of the itinerary and duration of the cruise.

Any apprehensions we may have had were blown away from the moment we were on the ship. My husband didn't stop smiling for about two days and repeatedly commented on what a fantastic decision it was to take the cruise.

Embarkation was a smooth process and in no time at all we were on board and sipping champagne. We had a short wait before we were able to go to our cabins with plenty of time to unpack before the ship departed Southampton. Hubbie and I were in a balcony cabin (thanks to an upgrade) and our two teenage boys had an inside cabin. Both cabins were beautifully appointed, with good sized bathrooms. The cabin attendants were great, especially Abdul who totally spoilt our boys!
