The more I talk to other parents about cruising, the more I find that just about every family interested in cruising would like to take a Disney cruise, but most can't afford it. A year after enjoying a wonderful Disney cruise, we found ourselves in the same situation. Although we truly wanted to sail with Disney again, it just wasn't feasible.

The best bang for my buck during the Presidents Day week was the Carnival Conquest. Since I figure that other readers are probably weighing the pro's and con's of a Disney vs Carnival experience, I figure I will outline/compare my experiences with both.

Cabin 8B

Nice sized room, blah colors, but plenty of storage space. It is above the theater, so you could sometimes hear noise from below. We were also in a spot where you could hear the waves smacking the side of the ship. I noticed that the ship's wake stopped the waves in all areas behind us, but our area was in the line of fire. Yet despite that, I found deck 6 was a great location in terms of being able to access everything on-board in a timely manner.
