If you are interested in the history of the Caribbean Frederiksted is fascinating but there are no tourist shops or restaurants you have to go to Christiansted which is more colourful with restaurants and shops. The Cruzan Rum distillery is a bit of a disappoint rather like going around a chemical plant.

San Juan has two amazing forts which are National Historic Sites. We used the local Trollys(buses) to get around San Juan and inexpensive. The buildings are very colourful and old. They speak Spanish and English. Do not wear expensive jewelery when you go ashore as they are very poor.

This is one of my favourite Islands in the Caribean. The beaches are beautiful lovely clear warm water to swim in. The shops are intersting with a lot of locally made goods from clothes, jewelry, paintings and pirate treasure. Do hire a jeep to get around the island you will not get lost as it is well sign posted so you have the freedom to explore the island and beaches it cost us $83.00 US$. Take your picnic from the ship and just explore.

We have been to St Kitts before and took the Sugar Train which is great.

This time we took a local taxi around the Island which was average. Unfortunately There were two large cruise ships in the same time as us and it rather swamped the little town. The new shopping complex near the terminals

sells Jewelry or goods made in China or India which you can buy anywhere in the world, cheap T shirts and "Tad" nothing unique.

This port is very French lots of lovely shops and restaurants. This is the play ground of the Rich and Famous so you need very deep pockets. A very pretty clean town. Unfortunately we arrived in the afternoon and everywhere was closed for a long lunch very French.

We arrived on the French side of the island and on a Sunday so all the shops were closed but the market near the waterfront was fun with an amazing stalls and a stall selling all sorts of spices.

We took the local bus to the Dutch side of the island, Shops,Restaurants, were open and the place was alive. Never go to a French port on a Sunday as it is closed.

This is a great port full of shops and restaurants and historic places to explore something for everyone. "Gladys restaurant" is an experience in it self food is great, Rum punch is to die for and the ambiance is out of this world go with a few friends and have a great time. The shops are pretty good if you buy jewelry such as rings make sure you buy one that fits as you will not be able to have them sized when you get home as they are mass produced and the gold part of the ring can be hollow as I found out.

If you like history or the stories of pirates then a trip to Blackbeard's Castle is a must. They have amazing statues of the pirates of the caribbean.

You can swim in one of 3 pools and they have a restaurant and bar as well as other interesting things. The view of St Thomas is wonderful.
