We took a walking tour, which seemed to miss out a couple of things we were supposed to visit (I think we arrived before opening times) but finished at the very attractive Port Market, which had fabulous food stalls, as well as souvenir shops.

We did not enjoy this port. You can easily walk into the old town from the cruise port. We prepared a self-guided walking tour in advance, and there was a tourist tent right across the street from the port exit handing out maps for essentially the same walking tour. We walked around the old city and visited La Rambla. Both were clean and easy to navigate. Walked to Independence Square and Constitution Square...both were impressive.
