This rating is not for Roatan, but for the excursion that NCL touted as a "VIP Day at the Beach." NOT AS ADVERTISED! It costs $179/person and was described as a gorgeous beach, with service that includes snacks, lunch, and drinks. These things are technically true, but the beach is small (it's a section of a resort), the food is terrible, and the service? More like self-service...or go hunting for ...

We did the Sol and Mar beach trip, and it was really nice. The food and drinks were good as well as the service. The sand was soft, and the beach was kept very clean. There are some hammocks out in the ocean that looked comfortable and got plenty of use. This was my third visit to Roatan. The island is quite small, and if you've been more than once, you probably will run out of things to do although, again, if you like some of the more adventurous options, like "volunteering tourism" or sailing to a more remote island, there are some new things available.
