Artemis is one of five vessels owned, operated and staffed by Overseas Adventure Travel which is the small ship arm of the Grand Circle travel corporation. Carrying 50 passengers, Artemis and its two identical O.A.T. siblings -- Arethusa and Athena -- were launched in 2007 to sail in the Mediterranean, Adriatic and Aegean regions. Passengers go ashore in two groups, each accompanied by an O.A.T. trip experience leader, which adds to the cultural immersion and small group experience in each port of call.

Artemis Deck Plans Include Cabins for Solo Travelers

O.A.T. welcomes single passengers and the ship has two dedicated cabins for solo occupancy and also offers a roommate-matching service for singles that want to share a cabin.

In total, there are 28 cabins which range in size from the 150-square-feet singles to double cabins measuring 170 square feet. These cabins have beds that can be converted for double or twin use. All cabins and comfortably furnished, with rich wood finishes, and have a bathroom and shower, in-room safe, individual climate control, small fridge, flat-screen TV, radio and phone. The cabins on the uppermost deck have walk-out verandas accessed by floor-to-ceiling sliding doors.

Elsewhere, there is a lounge with inviting leather couches and soft chairs on the middle deck, along with the ship's restaurant -- where all meals are served in a single open seating and include menus showcasing regional specialties and wines -- a combined lounge bar and a library. The ship has a warm feel, with the use of wooden and brass accents, and the onboard atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

The sun deck has a bar open grill area for al fresco dining, along with classic wooden deck chairs for admiring the scenery

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship, including in cabins. Artemis does not have an elevator.

Artemis Sails in the Mediterranean, Adriatic and Aegean

Artemis sails three itineraries which start with 16-night sailings. The longest voyage is the 28-night Italian Coastal Odyssey: Hidden Italy, Sicily & Malta. On each sailing passengers can expect insightful shore tours and experiences geared to North American travelers. For example, in Salerno, Italy, a local expert comes aboard to discuss the Second World War allied landing at the port city. Pre- and post-cruise extensions are also offered on every sailing.

Artemis Stats

Artemis measures 193 feet and carries 50 passengers at full occupancy with 21 crew members.

Artemis Cruiser Reviews

Overall cruise experience is very good. The Day in a life was the highlighted experience. I really enjoyed it.

The staff, the Caption, Ship Manager, the Chef and his kitchen staff on ARTEMIS were very friendly and courteous. I had the same caption on my Greek Islands tours four years back!Read More

Excellent time in Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro

This was our first small boat cruise and it was much more relaxing than a larger ship. The cruise worked out so both sides of the boat sometimes had a better view, so one side isn’t better than the other.Read More
