Operated by Overseas Adventure Travel, which is part of the Grand Circle group, the 89-passenger Clio was launched in 1998 and fully refurbished in 2016. It previously sailed for Paul Gauguin Cruises as Tere Moana before being acquired by Grand Circle. It is one of five O.A.T. ocean ships catering mainly to North Americans and offering small group experiences on land and sea. Passengers are divided into four groups of no more than 25 travelers, each accompanied by a resident trip leader.

Clio Deck Plans Include Balcony Cabins

Offering intimate yacht-style sailings, Clio has 49 outside-facing cabins ranging in size from 194 to 205 square feet across three decks. There is also one 160-square-foot single cabin.

While the majority of cabins have a window, there are nine balcony cabins with a sliding glass door leading to the veranda. All cabins have a queen-size bed -- convertible into two twins -- satellite TV, DVD/CD player, small fridge, safe, and bathroom with a shower.

Public areas include two lounges, a bar, restaurant that seats all passengers at one sitting on an open seating basis, indoor and outdoor veranda for al fresco breakfast and lunch, marina platform, sun deck and upper sky deck with a whirlpool.

An elevator serves all passenger decks and there is complimentary Wi-Fi.

Clio Sails in Scandinavia and the Mediterranean

Clio sails a variety of fully escorted itineraries including Scandinavia and the Baltic and all-new Mediterranean sailings. These include the 18-night Mediterranean Cultures and Islands voyage from Barcelona to Athens which includes overnights in the embarkation and disembarkation ports.

O.A.T. does not shy away from the darker sides of destinations and sailings usually feature a "controversial topic" talk by local experts. On this cruise it is an insight in the influence of the Sicilian Mafia. To provide further insight into destinations, pre- and post-cruise extensions are offered on all sailings.

Clio Stats

The ship measures 328 feet and carries 89 passengers at full occupancy with 60 crew members.

Clio Cruiser Reviews

Baltic Sea Cruise was a unique and educational experience for us.

Our assigned group guide, Krystian, on board the ship and accompanying us throughout our time was always professional, pleasant and clearly enjoyed his role, which also carried many responsibilities and details to make our experiences memorable. My sister and her friends have traveled many times with Overseas Adventure Travel and encouraged us to come along with them for this trip.Read More
