Mississippi cruise: Not Exactly Perfect.

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Melody

The Missus and I decided some time ago to kick the tires on ACL, in order to compare the line with American Queen Voyages (which unfortunately is no more). We chose the American Melody for a quick round-trip on the Mississippi out of New Orleans. ACL does not pay for incoming airport transfers so we grabbed a cab at the New Orleans airport. They do, however, provide a coach for the return ...

This is an unsolicited letter of commendation. We did the Lower Mississippi cruise from New Orleans to Memphis on March 15th. It was one of the best cruises we have taken. The staff couldn't have been better. They were courteous and helpful. Please extend my thanks to the following. Hanna, the Cruise Director was fantastic. She let us know where to be and when "on the dot". The piano player was ...

We started cruising with ACL last year on the American Revolution cruise out of Baltimore. We love the way you are treated with so much respect and dignity. The room, the staff, the entertainment have been phenomenal. The food is really good. ( We always gain a few pounds on each cruise) The Serenade is a beautiful ship. Love the outdoor space for relaxation. I really cannot name just a few of the ...

We chose this cruise because it was an eagle society cruise. We been on right at 14 cruises. Everything was so beautifully plated at dinner, especially the desserts. They had all kind of different styles. We had never seen a chocolate Acl before and this is our 14th cruise with American Cruise Lines it was very unique a lot of it was very thought out one night we had a cherry compote cheesecake it ...

I chose this cruise because friends had booked it based on advice from AAA. I didn’t expect much but was so very happy. I call it a “fun-size” ship because I have only traveled on large ocean cruisers before. It was cute & cozy, very comfortable and up-to-date. I stayed in the owners suite. Friends stayed in th AAC double cabin as well as a single cabin. All were located on Deck 3. All were very ...

The American Symphony was christened in 2022, it is a lovely ship with so many areas away from your staterooms which are larger than most and beautifully appointed, including a reading room, game room, and office with two computers, which came in handy when getting your boarding pass for your return home . Our stops along the great Mississippi river were Natchez, Vicksburg, St. Francisville, ...

We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and wanted something that would give us a different look at a vacation. We had never been on a cruise before. We were exceptionally pleased with our choice. The crew members each appeared to enjoy their job and made an extra effort to ensure that if we asked for something, they would find a way to make it happen. We were pleased with our cruise director ...

I chose this Cruise because I wanted to celebrate the holidays in a festive atmosphere. And it was really festive. The boat was decorated with all kinds of Christmas and Holiday decorations. Everybody was in a holiday mood on board. They were lots of Christmas activities and they gave us Christmas presents several nights. On Christmas Day we had all kinds of fun Christmas activities and a gift ...

I took this cruise in November 2022. (The drop-down menu won't let me change from January) I had cruised previously with American Cruise Lines on a paddlewheel on the upper Mississippi River and I wanted to see the lower Mississippi this year. I learned they had a brand new boat called the Symphony and I wanted to see how it was different from the one cruised on last year. It was very ...
