Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Eir

The cruise and accommodations were nice. Viking needs to work on their air travel department and flight policy. Viking can't have a first class cruise and not have first class service from the air department when working on making your air travel for the cruise. We ended up spending hours on the phone with the airlines to make corrections on our flights after no success with the Viking Air ...

The cruise travelled the Rhine, and my mom and I are of German descent. The food was fantastic onboard. The service was friendly and prompt. The clothes washing service was very well done. I will personally never forget the dinner and tour of the monastery in Germany. The duck served at the monastery was impeccable. We went to church in Cologne. It was interesting to see a Catholic service ...

Never been to Amsterdam and some of the other locations on the Rhine. We were able to hook up with my nephew stationed in Germany near Koblenz which made the trip more special. So nice to have multiple USB ports in the room, and free drinking water replenished daily. Breakfast and lunch meals were good. The evening dining at 7 didn’t work for us. eating that late and then trying to sleep ...

Lovely ship, excellent service, food not so good

Viking are very efficient, I cannot fault their communication and organisation. They organised the flights and transfers as well. However, they wanted an extortionate amount for 2 days in Amsterdam before the cruise, so we organised it ourselves and so had to make our own way to the hotel. The ship was lovely, very clean, smooth lines, no chintz! The other passengers were probably 50% ...

So I am on the Rhine Getaway as I type. Left 11/23 from Amsterdam. Mixed feelings here. Some relative to Viking, some to the cruise itinerary itself. First be aware that you WILL change ships, probably through year end, regardless of what Viking says. They have been doing it for months, and will likely do it through year end. It wasn't too disruptive, though and they arranged a Rhine day tour ...

Service and food was excellent. Staff was first rate, especially the cruise director. disappointed in how much time we spent on buses especially when we had to change boats. The set up in the dining room was conducive to meeting new people. Overall a very good experience; we are planning to do another Viking cruise next fall The excursions overall were very good but on the one excursion ...

The river cruise was the first part of a multi-week vacation to Europe. After being greeted at the airport by a friendly and new face, we started the adventure. Much to our surprise, our first day included a walking tour of Amsterdam and lunch on board. From that point things just got better. Wonderful meals, great tours and lots of time to adventure at all of the stops along the way. the tours ...
