We started on Skadie, we loved everything about it. Especially the hospitality captain. The Dinner host went so far above & beyond it would be difficult to describe. Her services were so outstanding, they all worked so well together. The room service was discrete & accommodating. Everyone was so friendly and seemed happy in their jobs. Moral is #1 in any business. We changed ships 1/2 way ...
Ours was one of many river cruises affected by low water levels on more than one river, but we'd live in Germany during a drought year back in the 70s so weren't concerned. Leaving Amsterdam a day later than originally scheduled gave us another day on our own (Heavy rain would have made tulips + windmills most unpleasant.) and we had one well-organized and well-predicted ship-swap. The ...
This was our first river cruise and we loved it. We have been on a couple ocean cruises previously but we liked the river cruise much better. The personal attention we received was great and the much smaller passenger number made things much more enjoyable. The activities and excursions were well planned and organized. Our cabin was just the right size, clean and well maintained. Our dining ...
we picked this cruise due to timing and locale , the staff was absolutely wonderful...food was great, best cruise director ever and the service from every aspect was fantastic. very clean and well kept facilities, excellent food and a terrific cruise director.
We can't wait to do another one! Thoroughly enjoyed all of the included group tours and added on a few extras whuch were also ...
A bucket list cruise. Plus we love Amsterdam and the Netherlands. Crew and staff were A+ in every area. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. The large TV had information about our course and the next days stop. The TV system crashed a few times but was repaired quickly.
Food was great and the servers were very attentive to our needs. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Bring ...
We knew people who had gone on the same trip. We were considering a Viking river trip and this one was what we wanted. We were able to see the Ann Frank house in Amsterdam, which is something we had really wanted to do. We were glad to have that extra time at the beginning of our trip to explore Amsterdam a bit before embarking on our cruise. The ship, Saadi, was great. Our cabin, while not ...
We chose the cruise for our 50th anniversary because of recommendations from friends. Everything ran so smoothly from the wonderful dining to the cabin care to the excursions. The crew went above and beyond to make the trip wonderful. We met several couples the first day who we enjoyed sitting with each evening. The Lounge was a wonderful gathering place. We would go there each evening before ...
A big problem is low water levels which isn't in Vikings control, but the choices they made didn't make for the best vacation. Late buses, locked bus bathrooms, ugly docking area, and no show shuttle to name a few. Add to that an assistant that lack awareness of senior pacing which is important since that is your cruisers, turn around and look lady, I shouldn't have to chase after her because ...
We chose this cruise (Grand European) for the river destinations and on the whole were not disappointed. The outings were well coordinated, guided very well, extremely informational and the staff was exceptional. The cabin was small but adequate in that you do not spend much time there. The dining was very good with excellent selections for all meals and the service was exceptional. We booked ...
I thought it would be an easier way to see so much of Germany and Austria than to haul my suitcase across the countries.
The cabin was comfortable, My favorite part of the ship was the lounge. It was a great place to relax with a drink or a cup of tea. I really liked being able to get a specialty coffee for free whenever I wanted and the cookies were nice in the afternoon after running around ...
