A delightful cruise in the end but a questionable beginning

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Celestyal Journey

This review is primarily about our cruise sailing on the Journey, however it also describes our experience with Celestyal Cruises and sets the scene prior to sailing with them. We had not heard about Celestyal Cruises (CC) before and were enticed by a reasonably priced 14 night itinerary with great inclusions (premium drink package, gratuities and four excursions). We booked 16 months prior to ...

This was my second cruise with Azamara and, booking very early, I landed a suite as a solo and "what a difference a suite makes." First time was in a veranda cabin -- not bad, aside from the notorious shower, but very small. The suite is essentially twice the size, the bathroom much bigger and the veranda wonderful. The butler was a joy to know, attentive, friendly, just great. Also, dining in ...

We sailed 3 legs from Athens to Sydney over 44 days and we could not fault anything about this ship. So much so even after so long we did not want to get off. The inclusions were great which included fresh buttered popcorn, tapas on back deck which include bbq prawns and octopus, peanut brittle and many different lollies, gelato ice cream and all soft drink and juices. All restaurants were ...

Cruising from Athens to Dubai, on Resilient Lady. Excellent staff members and crew. Could not falter, all very busy and seem so happy and content with their positions. The service desk personnel on deck 5 seem to be always busy with passengers queries. Wi Fi is OK, but basic Wi Fi seems to drop out a fair bit. The App is OK and very good for younger generation and those with internet ...

This was a different cruise to the norm. It was a new way of cruising. I must say we had a great time. Some of the ports we stopped at, we did not have enough time to explore fully. There were a few issues with port authorities, which slowed down disembarking. (Virgin always blamed the country) There was a lack of communication to the passengers. The virgin app had its problems and the did not ...

Resilient Lady is exceptional. The food is outstanding . Truly. The decor is amazing as are the acoustics. The crew were the most amazing I’ve ever encountered. A selection of the worlds brightest and best hospitality stars. Entertainment was varied and even if you didn’t enjoy because it wasn’t your style, you couldn’t fault the quality and diversity. The age profile ( average age ...

My husband and I are actually booked all the way through to Sydney. The staff on board are fantastic however they need more information and better communication skills. The back office is dreadful, it's disconnect between reality for passengers onboard is absolutely huge. 'shore things' staff have NO useful information about excursions and no alternatives available for people with mobility ...

The cruise from Athens to Sydney was split into 3 parts : Athens to Dubai / Dubai to Singapore / Singapore to Sydney. The maximum passenger capacity is approx 2700. The back to back passengers (sailors) totalled 1200 for the 42 days on board. The demographic / average age was 61 yo. Unfortunately despite Virgin Voyages having this information well in advance, the entertainment was aimed at a ...

We got a great deal on the cruise and loved the itinerary but knew nothing about the ship Wow we were surprised Everything about virgin is above and beyond. It’s all fresh and clean. With many modern touches The staff are genuinely happy to work and that atmosphere radiates through the ship. The staff are friendly relaxed and interact with the passengers all the time Food in all the ...

My wife convinced me 2 years ago to book a 7 day cruise with p&o on Iona to the Norwegian Fjords. Well i loved it and have had the cruise bug ever since. So once we came back i knew we had to go on another one. My wife likes to watch Cruise 1st TV, she found a great deal for the new Virgin Voyages ship Resilient Lady. This cruise was a repositioning cruise from Athens to Dubai with a 2 night ...
