"I tried one of the shipboard offered excursions on a previous Oceania cruise and was severely disappointed, even though it was really due to traffic problems in Marseille and other things out of control and the fault of the tour operator.nothing like a steam bath and awesome shower afterwards, with no one else around!..."Read More

1-10 of 16 Athens (Piraeus) Oceania Sirena Cruise Reviews
Our 3rd and final Oceania cruise. Frankly we fail to understand the number of repeat guests. I guess my main quibble is the quality - variable quality - of the food. It's like we are all extras in a restaurant promotion video who have been programmed/coached to play fine-dining guests - whatever the food is like. 'The finest cuisine at sea' is one of Oceania's mottoes. It just ain't. Raw poached ...
Gave 4 stars, because 5 is almost impossible.
I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Oceania has been a great choice, especially for the price when compared with other cruise line offerings. Some people must expect everything to be absolutely perfect, which is really not possible. Complaints about the size of the bathroom? You should have checked the pictures and floor plan before ...
Overall, the food was very good. Oceania says they have "The Finest Cuisine At Sea". What was good, was very good, however, pineapple and melons shouldn't be crunchy. Also, they served the absolutely worst bananas foster (one of my favorite desserts) I've ever had.
The crew was very friendly and the shore excursions were nice.
I was in an Owner's Suite on deck 6. During docking, which ...
Background information: We are veteran cruisers with many years of cruising in different parts of the world on different cruise lines (includes Oceania, Disney, RCI, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Cunard). This was our 30th cruise, our longest cruise to date, our eighth on Oceania and our first on Sirena. I have done several other cruise reviews on Cruise Critic.
This cruise was ...
Oceania is a fantastic cruise line, up there with the best. The crew were second to none and the food is of course exemplary. We never had a problem finding sun loungers (despite many shaded sunloungers being reserved every day) and there were many day beds available at all times too. The show lounge is called the Sirena lounge and it is more akin to a bar/lounge rather than the more typical ...
DISSAPOINTING.
The newly refurbished Sirena with a very interesting 'must do" itinerary from Athens to Rome including Cairo, Alexandria and Jerusalem.
So imagine our surprise and disappointment when on checking in at the cruise terminal in Athens we are handed a sheet of paper which informs us that (for "geopolitical situation reasons" and out of an "abundance of caution" Cairo and ...
Having cruised once before with Oceania, we were thrilled to cruise with them again. We chose the three day paid pre-cruise on land in Athens including tours, hotels, and food to begin with. The cruise entitled Cradle of History, would start on the third day on the renovated Sirena ship in port in Athens. This cruise included ports in Greece, Italy, Israel, and Cairo.. After arriving in the ...
This is my 4th time with Oceania in 4 years. Booked Sirena because of the supposedly upgrade to be completed by May 2016. Have previously cruised with Regatta, Insignia and Nautica.
Very disappointed with the overall look of Sirena. No where near as classy as other ships. we had an A1 class cabin. Bathrooms appear smaller than had before. No renovations to bathrooms, cannot get cold water in ...
The Sirena is a mid-sized ship so I was delighted not to see so many people in line during check in. It was smooth and easy. We were extremely disappointed when at check-in they told us that our stop in Egypt was cancelled and provided no explanation for this decision only saying it was foe security reasons. Many of the people booked this trip because we were stopping in Egypt for two days and ...
Chose this cruise for the ports we were going to visit. Upon embarkation we were informed that two of the ports had been cancelled (egypt)-not happy! Then, the ship lost my passport! The most interesting thing is that when the ceo was contacted about our poor experince, his response was to send our email to a subordinate to respond. Her response was that the contract allowed them to change ...
