No reason not to sail on Azamara again but no compelling reason either

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Quest

We chose the cruise to meet up with family from the UK and to visit Japan for the first time. This was our first time on Azamara. The embarkation in Hong Kong was chaotic. Most staff are a delight and go out of their way to help; a few should find another occupation. We only did two ship's tours and they were excellent. Our main complaint was the lack of port information before we docked. ...

Did the immersive African Cape cruise Fe 2020. Booked it for 2 significant life anniversaries Boutique six star so didnt. Mind paying more, WHAT A LET DOWN Tired old ship with worn out carpets and furniture in public areas. Cabins compact not boutique. They said bathrooms were small - too right they were about the same size as an aircraft toilet. You couldn’t bend down in the shower ...

No Amazing evening - all cancelled, no white night all abandoned, missed ports and very poor decision making by the Cruise directors. Cuts in included drinks and cuts in quality food, very poor cooking. Good on board orchestra but that s all. The Guest relations dealt withy the visas very well so that was good. Not memorable and really quiet naive and badly lacking in research as this is AFRICA ...

We had used Azamara before and we liked the look of the Myanmar itinerary. We stayed in Singapore for 2 nights before boarding the ship. The embarcation procedure was diabolical. This took ages to be processed with long queues. This was not a great start, especially when compared to other small cruise ships. Azamara advertise themselves as a Luxury Small Cruise Ship line. It is anything ...

Sadly ... standards have dropped

Embarkation at the rather small Harbors City Terminal in Hongkong was very efficient. (We stayed at the Marco Polo Hotel annex to the pier and the hotel's porters were kind enough to wheel our luggage all the way to the cruise terminal luggage drop-off point.) The ship looks like it needs a new coat of paint. Our cabin was in acceptable order and condition. The bad before the good ...

Not at all like other Azamara cruises - Hong Kong to Singapore

We chose this cruise based on the itinerary as well as our good impressions of the Azamara brand from previous cruises. Clearly Azamara is no longer equal to it's number one competitor Oceania. Although the itinerary was excellent and we greatly enjoyed each and every port immensely, the direction Azamara executives are taking is not to our liking. The embarkation process was smooth and ...

Dreadful Excursion

We were on the same cruise as the previous review and agree completely. But we continued on to Taiwan and the Philippines. One morning they cancelled the White Nite because of impending weather. However, we went on a "3 Beach" excursion. It lasted all day - the first beach was almost TWO hours from the ship on a wooden boat with very hard wooden seats. About 45 minutes at this beach and maybe ...

Disappointing but potential to be better.

We are experienced cruisers going back to the '80's. We prefer crossings and repositioning since most port visits are superficial at best. Substituting tour buses for luxury ship ambiance and tacky-tacky retail stops that seem to be about accommodating the local businesses rather than providing the cruiser any real opportunities. Thus the itinerary from Seward to Tokyo with stops in unusual way ...

04.08.18 "Azamara Journey" 18-Days of the worst entertainment at sea!

Review for a Asia Cruise on Azamara Journey

We choose this cruise based on it's itinerary...Singapore, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Cochin India, Goa India, Mumbai (Bombay) India & Dubai. There were 7 days "at sea". I have been cruising for over 35 years....53 cruises....on many different cruise lines. In my opinion this cruise had the worst entertainment of any voyage that we have been on. Azamara has made the decision to eliminate all ...

Disappointing experience

We booked this back to back a year before whilst on the Journey. Check in at Singapore was the worst we’d experienced in our long cruising history. Once aboard the customary welcome glass of champagne was not offered although other guests were walking around with them. In fairness our balcony cabin was lovely - spotless clean with regular towel/bedding changes. Our biggest disappointment ...
