A great cruise to exciting Asian destinations

My wife and I have been to most of Europe and South America, but never to Southeast Asia. We had sailed on the Voyager about five years ago and were eager to set it since its refurbishment in 2016, and a cruise from Bali to Hong Kong looked good. It was! The ship looks wonderful, and our cabin (853) was beautiful in an excellent location. The cabin attendant kept it looking clean and fresh ...

Service has diminished.

This is our fourth Regent cruise and first on the Voyager. We took the pre cruise tour to Chiang Mai. The air included was basic economy and when we arrived in Chiang Mai the tours were decent. The dinner we were served with local dance was not a Thai dinner. Getting back to Bangkok and to the ship was efficient but we arrived to the ship just prior to setting sail. Our room was across from ...

Polished Excellence Across the Board (and Seas)

We are fairly devoted to Regent, and this six week geographic extravaganza -- from Bangkok to Athens -- fulfilled our every expectation with style and ease. It was a pleasure throughout. The cruise was calm, ordered, and smoothly fine. (Also the case with RSSC direct reservation service before and after -- in the person of Mr. Aldo Ampuero.) The crew from our butler Raj up and down the ...

Wonderful Cruise with a Few Stumbles

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

We booked this cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary and all in all it was a wonderful trip, a trip of a lifetime. We saw so many beautiful and wonderful places, and met many wonderful people. Our Regent experience was, with a few notable exceptions, as good as the one 7 years ago in the Mediterranean. I will bullet point the positive and negatives below, and have, of course, given these to ...

NEVER AGAIN on Regent

We've cruised more than 50 nights on Regent but this will be our last trip with them. It's obvious that their new owner NCL (Norwegian Cruise Lines) is more concerned about their bottom line than on providing guests with top-notch experiences. The excursions were poor - whether one of the "free" ones or ones you pay extra to join. Group sizes are too large, which impacted the pace of the tour ...

Where is the old Regent?

This was our eighth Regent cruise and last. The trip was billed as "journey to nirvana" with the highlight two days in Saigon. They claimed the weather was bad so they cancelled the port call in Vietnam. Then they cancelled the stop in Malaysia. We were left with a lot of sea days and no "nirvana" The real reason they could not reschedule these stops was that it was Chinese New Year and no on was ...

First and Last Regent Cruise; NOT worth $$$$

Had high hopes as many people have raved about Regent. Even those (titanium level) cruisers agreed that this was not anywhere near the service and quality they advertise. There was a lot of talk that since Norwegian has taken over, Regent has tried to cut costs and service has gone downhill. I can't speak to this as it was our first cruise with them, but it was not worth the high price ...

CRUISE TO NIRVANA (NOT)

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

It was billed as the 'Journey to Nirvana', which, according to Buddhist teachings, is 'a place of perfect peace and happiness'. But by the time we had reached Hong Kong after 17 days on Regent Seven Seas Voyager cruise from Bangkok in February 2016, the luxury five-star brand had lost many of its disciples. Among the myriad problems for 677 passengers (365 Americans, the rest from the UK, ...

Not What It Used To Be

This was our third, and last, cruise aboard the Voyager. It seems that new owner Norwegian is determined to bring Regent down to its level. While not terrible, dining room service was nowhere near the standard of other cruises. Two and a half hours for dinner with minimal wine! Thirty minutes for dessert when we told the waiter we wanted to get to the 9:30 show! Ten minutes to get a glass of iced ...

Not Five Star

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

Regent seems to have no interest in their guests experience. Ports were cancelled due to weather, but communication from the cruise line non-existent. Dining room tables very close to each other. Staff in main dining room have very poor English skills. They cannot do anything except take an order, from a menu. No outside the box thinking thought process by them. Shore excursions for this ...
