"Viking had us on an overview tour of Berlin on our very first day, and this was not a lightweight tour.Almost the first thing we had was a fire drill, all of us gussied up in our bright orange vests as they checked off our names in the lounge and briefed us on safety, including the fact that at the deepest parts of the Elbe, if we were to sink, we could walk to shore...."Read More

1-10 of 41 Viking Beyla Cruise Reviews for River to Europe - River from Berlin
As former cold warriors, we chose this cruise to visit places we had been forbidden to travel while serving in what was West Germany. On our way to the ship, our very first thrill - walking across the Glieniecke Bridge, the bridge of spy exchanges near Sans Souci and Cecilienhof. It was cold and snowing. There was little traffic. It was the thrill of a lifetime.
From beginning to end, our trip ...
We chose this cruise because it allowed us to see sights in germany that we hadn’t seen before at a no hazzle leisurely pace which viking offered. it also gave us the option of scheduling an additional day’s stay in berlin before hand which we took advantage of. This cruise far exceeded our expectations. the crew went above and beyond to meet our needs. the food was excellent and plentiful. we ...
Though I booked this cruise for the ports and sights, and they were wonderful, the highlight of this trip was the crew. They were professional and friendly, quickly knew everyone's names and preferences, were most helpful whenever asked about anything. They clearly enjoyed their jobs and each other. It was evident that Viking clearly values their staff and treats them well.
The port talks ...
We went with first time Viking cruisers and we all had a wonderful time. The time ashore at Berlin was a lot of fun as the winter markets were just getting started so it gave us something to do in the evenings. Prague was absolutely gorgeous and we look forward to going back again. Time on the Elbe was great also, being a smaller river it just felt like we were the only ones on it, which I ...
We had heard that Viking cruises were the best. So once we retired we scheduled our first one. The service on these cruises is top notch. Every staff member went out of their way to provide excellent service and respond to any inquiries. The food was also excellent. We were pleased that the water level was high enough to allow our ship to traverse the Elbe River. The room was spacious for a ship, ...
This river cruise was my second with Viking. I love the way everyone makes you feel like you are the most important person, and your happiness and well-being their goal.
The places we visited were very interesting, transportation efficient and very pleasant, and the excursions meticulously organized.
Also, the social experience is amicable and familiar, getting to know all your fellow ...
We were looking for something a bit different from the normal European rivers and the Elbe looked interesting. On the surface it's a typical Viking river cruise - great food, top flight staff, comfortable up to date ship, excellent shore excursions lead by knowledgable and personable guides. But there was something extra on this ship (beyond the best Cruise Director in the industry and the waiter ...
This was a newer offering and the ports and stops included places we had not been to before. The entire crew worked to make the voyage wonderful! I do not recall the hotel manager’s name, but he made every gathering fun and funny. What a great sense of humor. The program director Kalin was always on the ball and foot great care of us during our time with him. Chef Galin (and Kalin) is from ...
I have traveled with Viking many times and I am never disappointed. The moment you book your cruise you are cared for. The Berlin Hotel was in the center of town and was world class luxury. Our transfer to the ship and embarkation process was seamless. Our stateroom was well sized with a comfortable veranda. Travel around the ship is very accessible and all staff are very accomandating. The ...
Itinerary (2 days in Berlin, 5 day cruise including Wittenburg, Meissen and Dresden, 2 days Prague) appealed to us and didn't disappoint. Viking's cruise environment is (for us) a good mix of levity, entertainment and enrichment led by excellent program director Rik and enhanced by unadvertised extras such as an evening walk in Torgau, a lacemaking demo (and chance to try), a talk from a local ...
