We did a lot of tendering to the shore. In Bar Harbor we tendered in then had to take 50 min bus ride just to see Bar Harbor . That's just one example . This ship ran out of Diet Soda 5 out of 10 days. At every port they said they had a shipment but lied You feel for the cost of the cruise they wouldn't run out of food but examples hotdogs ,vanilla ice cream, dinner rolls and cheese for the nacho ...
This cruise was interesting, yet in many ways disappointing. Great itinerary that included Gloucester, Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard, New Bedford, Newport, and Provincetown. Of the 175 passengers most were from East Coast and MidWest with the majority being older seniors.
Our first disappointment, the bus picking us up from Four Seasons Hotel was 1 1/2 hrs late for the pre-cruise excursion ...
We chose this cruise because we were booked on Pearl of the Seas and it was canceled several times due to Covid. We were told we had to cruise before the end of 2022 or lose all the money we had paid for the cruise on Pearl of the Seas. There was nothing available on Pearl of the Seas in the New England area and we could not book the cruise for 2023. Our suite was on the 5th floor and was very ...
We had to cancel a Viking Alaskan Cruise due to health issues and found a suite available on this ACL New England cruise. We were disappointed and left the ship early. August is a bad time for Maine. It was too hot to enjoy off ship excursions. A fall or spring trip might be a better choice. The ship itself, I believe, is about 5 years old. We had trouble with our balcony door lock. We weren't ...
A Great cruise for the New England area. This is the first time we have been on American Cruise Lines and was not disappointed at all. There were 3 of us in a veranda suite and there was plenty of room for 3 singles. All crew members were very accommodating. We had a great hotel General Manager, Cory! Cruise Director, Marla and the best of the best excursion director Daniel Patrick F.! My ...
Many issues with this cruise. The cruise was scheduled for 10 nights, Boston to Maine, RI, Mass and back to Boston. While the ship is only 4 years old, the decor can best be described as basic. Luxurious, it is not. One major issue at the outset was no Wifi on board. We were told to depend on cell phones instead. Those cell phones don't work when the ship is say from land or in remote parts ...
We chose this cruise because we had cruised American Cruise Lines previously and had a 5 star experience. Unfortunately this cruise was not even close. This is a very expensive cruise line (about $1,000 a day per person - based on double occupancy) and the passengers are mostly senior citizens. Our boarding experience was chaotic. There was a long boardwalk to the boat with no assistance for ...
I made a couple of posts on the American Cruise Lines Group before our 8/23 Grand New England Cruise expressing concern over whether it could live up to the fabulous experience we had with Viking on our first cruise two years ago after reading so many brutal reviews on Yelp and Cruise Critic. Well, about everything went wrong on this cruise that could go wrong and we had an absolutely fabulous ...
Grand New England Cruise
We just returned from this cruise in August. This was one of the most frustrating cruises we have ever been on. At the same time, it was pleasant because of the places we visited (from Boston to Bar Harbor), the small size of the ship and the lengths that the crew on board went to make lemonade out of lemons.
For example, we had 2 special events planned for our ...
Beware! This cruise is unsafe, hazardous, a liability, and a tragedy waiting to happen. The facts are that they are grossly understaffed and the crew that is aboard is negligently trained; they are incompetent and uninformed. The staff is not fully vaccinated, although the Manager of the Hotel, has lied and sworn they are, the Captain and Medic aboard has verified otherwise. The majority of the ...
