Wonderful experience on first cruise!
"So nice to have our Viking rep arrange for COVID tests and a very early morning car and driver to take us to the airport.(The only exception was Vienna which is too big a city, but still had nice walking paths along the river)...."Read More

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Alsvin

The Romantic Danube was the name of the cruise, that's the 1st reason we decided to take this cruise. Then the ports of call were the second reason. We were a little disappointed that a bus ride for all excursions was necessary to see the ports. We had envision getting off the ship and walk into town or city.. The worst was the Strassburg tour. A 9.5 hour excursion turned into 15 hours!! On ...

We had never been on a river or ocean cruise so weren’t sure what to expect. The Viking staff ensured that every aspect of our experience was wonderful. Most of the staff learned our names in the first day of the trip and really catered to our needs! We had 145 guests (capacity of 190) on the ship and really got to know many other guests over cocktails, dinner, or on the tours. We did most of ...

It was our third trip to Paris but a wonderful introduction to the charms of the Moselle and Rhine, ending with the majesty of the Alps and the pleasant surprise of Zurich. Each of the towns on the Moselle and Rhine was an exciting discovery , with ample time for both provided and personal excursions. Trier, Bernkastel, Cochem were all lovely. Koblenz provided a perfect introduction to the ...

I love the small ships. Very intimate and easy to meet new people from around the world. There were no language barriers. The ship is elegant and the staff is superb. We were treated like royalty the whole journey. The included excursions were well organized and very informative. The ports were the ship docks are usually close to the town center and can easily be walked to and from. The ...

This was our first River Cruise so we weren't sure what to expect (we've taken several ocean cruises). The ship was beautiful and clean and designed so efficiently that is seemed much bigger than it actually was. The crew was always pleasant and ready to help. The food was excellent with a relaxed dining atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the 24-hour self serve coffee bar and the regional ...

We hoped to get a good feeling of Prague and the castles on the rivers traveled. We did all that and more. Super food and drink, great accommodations and very responsive crew. Castles at night were a particular treat as a photographer, so it pays to stay on deck after dinner. The top level was closed for the first 3 days because of low bridges and that was a disappointment that we hadn't expected. ...

What a relaxing and satisfying way to travel! We enjoyed life on board as much as the cities and the included city tours. The crew on the Alsvin were amazing, from the room steward to the bartenders to the activities director. The food was out of this world, and there were many choices to satisfy anyone's needs. All in all, we will definitely book another river cruise on Viking. Highlights ...

After a week long cruise the year before we thought two weeks to places we haven't visited would be great. We enjoyed wonderful weather, beautiful scenery and made new friends. The boat has a great design. Very comfortable afternoons and attentive staff. Our cruise director was fabulous. We enjoyed the included excursions. The food was delicious. We found germany a beautiful and friendly country. ...

Our neighbors told about the river cruise, After flying from Colorado the 26th to Europe the night of 27th . The gal at disk welcomed us by saying you are on the "wrong boat" !! not a very good start for our trip. I'm in a stander-ed wheel chair. Was very hard in our cabin. walking is very hard for me. But after I left the room the crew was very helpful. All and all I'm very happy i made the ...
