Second time on a Carnival cruise . First time 4 years ago on the Victory and we were so impressed we really wanted to sail with them again. Sometimes it's just best to hold onto a good memory! The sunshine just didnt impress us at all. The cabin stewards were not the usually chirpy friendly chappies (maybe that was just ours) some things we liked a but overall we'd give it 4/10. The main problem ...
We left St. Louis on Fri. Sept. 6th, and arrived in Venice on Sat.,at 9 a.m. and proceeded to our mainland hotel, the Marco Polo in Mestre, where our room was already waiting for us. We had arranged for the hotel shuttle to pick us up at the airport for 20 Euros. Very reasonable when the price of a taxi would have exceeded that amount, and dragging our luggage on and off the airport bus didn't ...
The trips started out great. We arrived in Venice and made it to the ship without any major complaint. They were a little disorganized with the bags at the airport, but I think that was part of a language/cultural barrier. Once at the port and on the ship, things were smooth. The ship is advertised as completely refurbished, but this is misleading. Parts of the ship are completely refurbished. ...
My husband & I have taken a number of cruises previously but this was the first in the Med & with Carnival.
Excellent/good:
Embarkation at Barcelona was excellent & we both commented on how smoothly it went. The area we had to wait in was very good fresh, airy & with plenty of seating & a cafe.
On Board the food - we tried moston offer, entertainment- we went to several venues & shows & staff - ...
Hi, this was our first cruise so nothing to compare to really but we did all rate this as our best holiday ever (previous holidays villas in Florida and all-inclusive in Turkey and Egypt)
Our rooms, 3 interior, were all lovely, cleaned twice daily. The beds very comfy. Only noise from some annoying females in next room. Soap, shower gel and shampoo provided. We didn't get towel for pool in our ...
We embarked at Barcelona and for once it was organised not as chaotic which is bonus. We got on board to find our room not ready so we sat on the deck and chilled. By 3.30pm room still not ready was getting a little annoyed, finally got in to find it filthy a slippper and a glass from the previous guest along with their breakfast on the floor. We called Room Steward on the phone and she came to ...
12 nights in the Med on the Carnival Sunshine.
We are two adults and two teenagers. (16 and 13)
Embarkation.
This was quick and easy, despite a computer failure. Our cabin wasn't ready, but we sat by the main pool, had some lunch and watched flamenco dancing. Our cabins 6371 and 6367 were ready at about 2.30pm and our luggage arrived before the muster drill.
We had a balcony cabin (6371) which ...
I have been on many cruises, but this was my second Carnival cruise with the other one being on the Fantasy many years ago. Our group was a family of family 10 which included 8 adults, one teenager, and my 3yr old who was on his 3rd cruise. We were only the July 19th sailing.
The Sunshine cruise was chosen due to the itinerary and it fit into the dates that we all had available.
Pre-Cruise: We ...
We have only previously cruised with Disney so my expectations of Carnival were set somewhat low, considering this cruise was around $3000 cheaper than a similar cruise with DCL in the Med in a similar cabin. I was travelling with my 14 year old son and husband. We choose the cruise based on more value for our money and the ports. Unfortunately we lost Monaco and Majorca and had these replaced ...
Good selection of food available
Excellent fine dining in the evening in Sunset restaurant
Cleaning of our cabin was not good
Hassled all the time by photographers-The worst we have ever seen one of them insulted my wife so we've had to complain and got no where with it!
Fab cinema screen by the main pool but too loud music played all day alone if you are a family you are stuck in that ...
