Terrible

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Luminosa

Started off with medical emergency no Dr available. Needed medication and couldn’t find my bag. My husband went searching and found it on a different floor in a random hallway. Just sitting there. The ship isn’t comfortable and there’s not much going on. Staff searching is a mess. Wanted kids to take off beanies to look under them. Food is terrible. Not a lot of options. Can’t find soup and no ...

Family cruise to Alaska turned into a nightmare! Booked 3 cabins all balcony and a suite. The cabins were outdated, dirty, stinky, and very loud. The vibrations from boat were amplified by all the loose things in room. Heat broke and we got really sick. The shore excursions were not good it was raining in port we spent longest time in. There was another port we arrived so early everything was ...

We choose Alaska to check off our bucket list. Over all we had a great experience, good food and wonderful excursions. I have cruised with Carnival for over 20 years and this is my 6th cruise. Had this been my 1st cruise it probably would have been my last, I did not like the ship and how the Lido deck was set up. To eat up there we had to stand in long slow lines and seating to eat was at times ...

The food was terrible! The food was always closed! If the food was open the line was so long! Then you get some generic hard store brand bread with one piece of meat and some chips!! The bed felt like sleeping on a box spring that some got from the landfill. The public restrooms were always dirty with overflowing toilets. There was no laundry on the ship. You could pay $15 to the room steward to ...

This was our first cruise so we don't have anything to compare it to, but I know when I'm having a good time and if I consider the service we received to be good and overall we thought it was very good. All of the staff was very helpful and courteous. The first morning at the breakfast buffet was a bit hectic especially with a lot of people not setting their time back an additional hour which ...

We received a wonderful offer for this cruise. We had never been to Alaska and the Luminosa was recently acquired by Carnival from Costa and appeared to be a great medium size ship. The room attendant was wonderful, however, the ship looked very dated ('80s Euro) design which was disappointing. To start, there was a vibration that continued throughout the trip. Then, we had trouble with the ...

We chose this cruise for the Alaska itinerary. The ports were amazing. However, the ship, service and food left so much to be desired. Everything from start to finish was extremely disorganized. Overall, the staff were pleasant but most of them just didn't seem to have been trained properly. This was our 9th cruise with Carnival and up until this cruise we've been very happy with Carnival. Our ...

My sister took us on an Alaska cruise (thanks sis). We chose the Luminosa over the Spirit. Hindsight says we probably made a mistake. This was the first sailing of the Luminosa from Seattle, 4 May 2023 The Good: The food in the dining room was about as good what we've received on every other Carnival ship we've been on. The wait staff was attentive. The cruise director and "Fun Squad" ...

Disappointing

We enjoy taking the end of the season cruises. Usually the crowds aren't as large and the temperature is nice. We have been on several cruise lines and have always preferred Carnival. But, our recent cruise to Alaska was very disappointing. CARNIVAL HUB APPLICATION: This application is frustrating to use. I could not stay connected to the Wi-Fi, and had to log in each time to use it. ...
