Enjoyable but with flaws

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Splendor

This cruise was our 50th anniversary celebration that included family members for a group of 10. Two disappointments before sailing--Icy Strait Point substituted for Skagway and a ship change that altered the staterooms we had painstakingly selected. The Cruise Critic ship review is accurate--decor overwhelming to the point of tacky. Otherwise, Splendor is pleasant enough. Grandkids enjoyed ...

Cruise from Hell - Bad Food and Illness

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Splendor

This was our fifth cruise - third on Carnival and one each on Princess and Norwegian. It was our second time to Alaska, having previously completed an Alaska cruise tour on Princess. This was by far the worst cruising experience we have had, mainly due to illness and terrible food (poor food handling and preparation). The good: Great price, ship at only 2/3 capacity, awesome weather, some ...

Great cruise to a beautiful coast on an enjoyable ship

This was the Carnival Splendor's second Alaska (and first seven-day) itinerary of 2022. The ship was inactive during the pandemic and is great shape now as it returns to service. I have done this itinerary multiple times before -- on RCI, NCL, Celebrity, and once years ago on the Carnival Tropicale. The service on the Splendor lives up to all of them, and the Carnival price is by far the best ...

Fantastic budget Alaska cruise!

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Spirit

I originally booked the cheapest cruise I could find, as a single passenger. I got an interior room near the bow to myself for an 8-night cruise to Alaska for under $250, before taxes and add-ons. My expectations were low, especially given the price. This was my first time on a Carnival ship, and my first time on an Alaska cruise. I expected to be unimpressed with the views and ports, as I grew ...

Great Cruise to Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Splendor

This was my 3rd cruise to Alaska and first roundtrip from Seattle. I booked after receiving a great offer on a solo rate when this ship was moved from Australia to Alaska. This was the first sailing for the ship in 2 years and despite a few issues (late clarification on required testing & ArriveCAN and spotty internet for the first day or so), it was a great cruise. Alaska never fails to impress. ...

My wife and I are regular cruisers... other thst 2020, we go on at least 1, if not two cruises per year. We also prefer 10 to 16 day cruises. So when my wife's friend asked us to join her on her first cruise to Alaska, we said yes. Then she said it was on Carnival. We did some research and decided we would give them another try. We have had some TERRIBLE experiences on Carnival, and ...

I am an avid photographer so my expectations for the chance to capture great images was high and I was not disappointed. By far our best trip and vacation memories ever! We sailed out of Seattle in September with a group of 8 family members with just the husbands and wives. We had no issues getting through customs, where the personnel were friendly and got us onboard as soon as possible. ...

All i can say is wow. Carnival went above and beyond to satisfy all guests on board. The food was amazing and the staff always went out of their way to help with any needs. We stayed in a balcony cabin, which was clean, spacious and had everything you would need. The entertainment was endless and had something for both me and my husband to enjoy. Bonsai sushi and Steakhouse a must visit and guys ...

Exceptional value, full of excitement, entertainment on board, descent food and helpful people. Unlike other cruises, the cruise to Alaska is an adventure with on board resources to constantly keep you informed of where you are, the wildlife around you at any given time, Northenr lights and the history of the area. I am still pumped a week after the trip and at all the wonderful experinces we had ...

We decided to cruise with my brother & sister-in-law when they booked an Alaskan cruise on Legend. We are not first time cruisers...we have cruised a few times before with another cruise line, so we had a chance to compare similarities and differences. Overall, I was a little disappointed with Carnival. The cabin was not very clean...you could see where there were stains on the wall where someone ...
