Weeks prior to boarding the ship, I was apprehensive due to the massive flood of negative reviews of the ship. Poor food, atrocious public spaces, dated facilities, just to name a few. When we boarded, I was relieved to find out that the ship itself was presentable. Sure, it lacked all the bells and whistles of the newer Carnival ships, but it had its own charms that came with a smaller mid-sized ...
We chose this cruise for our first time to Alaska. Many activities and shows everyday. We went to all the music shows, game shows, and some of the comedy shows. Beautiful small ship even though it's older. I would give 5 stars but the Lido dining is a nightmare. Not enough room to sit at breakfast or lunch. During the Tracy Arm Fjord Day, some passengers got up early and planted themselves at the ...
We choose Alaska to check off our bucket list. Over all we had a great experience, good food and wonderful excursions. I have cruised with Carnival for over 20 years and this is my 6th cruise. Had this been my 1st cruise it probably would have been my last, I did not like the ship and how the Lido deck was set up. To eat up there we had to stand in long slow lines and seating to eat was at times ...
This was our first cruise so we don't have anything to compare it to, but I know when I'm having a good time and if I consider the service we received to be good and overall we thought it was very good. All of the staff was very helpful and courteous. The first morning at the breakfast buffet was a bit hectic especially with a lot of people not setting their time back an additional hour which ...
This was the Carnival Splendor's second Alaska (and first seven-day) itinerary of 2022. The ship was inactive during the pandemic and is great shape now as it returns to service. I have done this itinerary multiple times before -- on RCI, NCL, Celebrity, and once years ago on the Carnival Tropicale. The service on the Splendor lives up to all of them, and the Carnival price is by far the best ...
This was my 3rd cruise to Alaska and first roundtrip from Seattle. I booked after receiving a great offer on a solo rate when this ship was moved from Australia to Alaska. This was the first sailing for the ship in 2 years and despite a few issues (late clarification on required testing & ArriveCAN and spotty internet for the first day or so), it was a great cruise. Alaska never fails to impress. ...
My wife and I are regular cruisers... other thst 2020, we go on at least 1, if not two cruises per year. We also prefer 10 to 16 day cruises. So when my wife's friend asked us to join her on her first cruise to Alaska, we said yes. Then she said it was on Carnival. We did some research and decided we would give them another try. We have had some TERRIBLE experiences on Carnival, and ...
Hi all, here's our family's thoughts on the cruise ports! Enjoy.
Seattle
We rode the train from the airport. It wasn't too long of a walk, but it was some distance. The cost is only about $3 per person and it took less than an hour to get to the downtown station. That station is located about 8 blocks from pikes market and 3 blocks from our hotel.
Pikes Market - I agree with the ...
First, I always look to cruise on the smaller ships and the Legend was perfect. I was a solo cruiser and met people on social media that were going also. Not singles. Families, couples, etc. I flew from Philadelphia so I had a 6 hour flight.
Embarkation and debarkation - It was easy on and easy off. Everyone was on and off in no time. I was disappointed that no Carnival staff welcomed ...
Have been on Legend twice in the past and had a generally good experience. Really like this ship and this class of ship. Love the Alaska glacier bay itinerary as well. Ship is getting old but still one of the most comfortable around. Great staff on all counts, always professional and friendly. Nice port stops (though we all know Victoria is a waste). The Icy Straight Point stop is a great addition ...
